Used sharps must be collected and disposed of safely and under strict controls in line with current legislation. It is crucial that sharps and blades are disposed of in an effective and safe manner to help reduce the spread of HIV, Hepatitis and other infections.

We have a comprehensive range of containers for the disposal of sharps including needles, razors, blades and other sharps excluding those contaminated with medicinal products and their residues.

Our sharps bins are designed for the consignment of waste categorised by the following EWC (European Waste Catalogue) codes: 18 01 01, 18 01 03, 18 02 01 and 18 02 02.

The SHARPSGUARD® orange range is manufactured to the most rigorous quality and safety standards: BS7320:1990, UN3291, AFNOR NFX 30-500 and ISO 9002. The opaque doors clearly show when the door is in the temporary or fully closed position ensuring the containers are safe and simple to use.

These sharps bins can be placed in areas throughout your premises and then serviced to suit your needs. CLD Hygiene’s service personnel will collect your sharps bins when full and on an agreed schedule in a specialist licensed vehicle (as required by law). They will then be taken for environmentally friendly incineration.
